Ana Marica

I’m a facilitator, community weaver, and learning designer with 15 years of experience designing participatory, collaborative processes for communities and organizations navigating complexity across sectors, cultures and territories. My work is rooted in decolonial and pluriversal perspectives, with a focus on how different knowledge systems (especially those grounded in land, memory, and deep ecological connections) can coexist and weave just and flourishing futures.

The core of my work starts from the premise that systemic change happens when groups build new shared narratives together, ones spacious enough to hold multiple ways of knowing. In practice, this means:

• convening unlearning journeys and cosmovision encounters that put distinct knowledge systems into real dialogue
• facilitating group processes that turn narrative work into a lever for collective decision-making
• building the trust and shared language that invites communities with to collaborate
• creating spaces for peer-to-peer learning, where participants learn as much from each other as from any single facilitator or expert voice

• designing formats (gatherings, journeys, story-based rituals) that translate this collaboration into structures groups can keep using on the long term

The Alternative University (Bucharest, Romania) marked the beginning of my journey – a transformative experience that rooted my belief in self-directed, community-driven learning and sparked my passion for facilitation, autonomy, and the art of asking better questions. Building on that foundation, I trasitioned towards future-of-work as area of inquiry and organizational design as practice, helping small and medium organizations transition toward more self-managed, collaborative ways of working. A decade ago, I co-founded Digital Romads, supporting organizations and teams to (re)design how they work and learn through transparency, self-management and co-creation. As part of this path, in 2019 I turned my focus to community-level work, engaging across grassroots, for-profit, and non-profit sectors and supporting communities and global networks around the world (both in-person and virtual) to weave relational and collaborative processes that strengthen learning, collaboration and the impact of their mission.

Through projects and initiatives such as Interbeing Learning Journeys, Home in Fagaras and Fagaras Research Institute, I am currently navigating learning at the intersections of geographies and worlds, designing unlearning journeys that invite individuals and communities to question, reimagine, and transform. Based in Bucharest, Romania, I moves between territories – both on land and underwater – seeking the wisdom held in diverse ecosystems and communities.
