Mental Health Responder

Nick McGirl

(he/him)

Germany, United Kingdom

I’ve been facilitating groups for 15+ years, and everything from workshops in prisons for young offenders to groups of business leaders. This includes facilitating many summits and retreats while at Ashoka (including networks of education leaders, funders and more) and CXC, and running & designing different trainings. I have also moderated different high level panels, including with ChangeNOW, SOS Children’s Villages & more.

My style is definitely intuitive and adaptive, sensing the group energy and reacting accordingly but always having a strong frame and agenda prepared. I like to use humour, high energy and clear, strong instructions with lots of framing, and am careful of not ‘over-facilitating’ with formats that are too complex or that might feel contrived for participants, I always look at every activity through the eye of how participants would experience it.
